Start trainingQ: Why should companies teach their IT staff Salesforce Classic? What benefits does having Salesforce skills bring to an organisation and its admins? It comes down to time and money savings. In-house admins are able to quickly load data, modify reports and dashboards, as well as respond more effectively to user requests. It is dangerous to expect an outside provider to manage your business and properly configure Salesforce.
Q: Who should learn Salesforce technology? Salesforce skills can lead to a variety of careers, whether you are in the IT industry or finance. I train Salesforce admins from all areas of finance, marketing, sales, customer service, and IT. You can become a successful Salesforce administrator if you are a systems thinker and understand the role of CRM in a business setting. Salesforce has a vast ecosystem. It can lead to sales leadership, consulting, development, and business intelligence positions.
Q: What was your learner perspective when creating this course for admins? There are literally thousands of topics that they could study when they first learn Salesforce. I focused on the core features and functionality that are required to manage a Salesforce org within the first few months. There are also topics that self-taught admins often overlook. This course fills those gaps.
Q: Do you have any tips for learners? Join a local user group! Salesforce offers local (or virtual!) user communities that will help you learn and connect you with a great network of generous advisors. You can also get information about new features through the community.
Q: Which was your favorite Nugget you created in this course? It’s a toss up between “What to Do When a User is Fired” and “Top Report Builder Support Question”. Supporting any technology used within a Sales department can be daunting. I enjoy sharing insights that aren’t obvious or were learned “the hard way.”
Q: What is the most important thing that you hope learners will take away from this course?” Users need to believe that they know Salesforce and how it works. There is so much to learn. The best way to learn is to use the keyboard to create, test, and explore.
Q: Do you need any certifications or courses before you can dive into the Salesforce Admin – Classic Interface course? Salesforce recommends that anyone who is interested in taking the Salesforce Admin certification course, or sitting for the certification exam, have six months to a full year of Salesforce admin experience. Salesforce has always expected you to dive in deep and figure it all out. This course is designed to help you get started in the first 6-12 months of your admin experience. I will teach you what you need to be successful during that time.
Q: Which course(s), certification(s), should learners consider after they have completed the Salesforce Admin – Classic Interface course? Continue learning Salesforce adm
