Alteryx Taps AWS redshift for Data Blending

Alteryx Inc. announced the in-database data blending service with Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS), Redshift data warehousesing service as part its updated flagship data analysis and blending product.
Data blending is the process of combining data from different sources and weeding out irrelevant information to create the data needed for analytics.
Alteryx Analytics 10.0 allows analysts to use Redshift’s vast cloud resources for in-database data blend at petabyte scale.
Alteryx stated that the new capabilities allow data processing in an Alteryx analytic workflow to be pushed into Amazon Redshift. This allows it to be executed using the massive computing resources of AWS cloud. This results in a dramatic improvement in performance when blending data with large data sets that many analysts use for decisions such as customer analysis, inventory levels and financial transactions, optimization of marketing campaigns, and other important decisions.
The company claims that data analysts today are using databases more than just data repositories. They use them as analytics platforms.
Julian Dell, an executive at a company customer called amaysim, stated that Alteryx is used with Amazon Redshift to quickly uncover insights about customer behavior. Alteryx Analytics and Amazon Redshift combine to provide fast in-database data blending with in-memory advanced analysis, allowing us to gain insights from complex XML-based customer records and call records without requiring a lot of development. This allows us to respond faster to customer behavior drivers than ever before.
The company stated that Alteryx combines cloud, third-party, and internal data to facilitate analysis and predictive drag-and drop tools in a single workflow that doesn’t require programming skills.
Paul Ross, a company executive, stated that Amazon Redshift provides customers a cost-effective and simple way to store large amounts of data. Alteryx Analytics 10.0’s integration with Amazon Redshift gives line-of-business analysts the unique opportunity to answer critical questions faster, with all the data sets they need, unlike any other.
